Friendship Park Community Center weekly activities schedule

The following is a list of activities for all at Friendship Park Community Center: •Monday, January 22, computer help, 9 a.m.; shuffleboard, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; lunch, 11:45 a.m.; bingo, 12:30 p.m.; mah jongg, 3 p.m.; seniors dine out at Carmel’s Mexican, 4:30 p.m. •Tuesday, January 23, lunch, 11:45 a.m.; no euchre or pinochle.

FPCC to hold Valentine snow ball Feb. 9

Friendship Park Community Center, 2930 131st Street, Point Place, will host a family dance from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, February 9. The whole family, from grandparents to toddlers, are invited for a fun night of dancing, food, photo memories, crafts and activities. A DJ will be playing the old and new tunes. The event is free.

Seniors dine out set for Monday, January 22

On Monday, January 22, seniors from Friendship Park Community Center are scheduled to dine at Carmel’s Mexican, 2947 Tremainsville Road, Toledo. Meet at the restaurant at 4:30 p.m. Food and transportation is on your own.

Dr. Sharon Erel lecture planned for February 8

Registration is open for the first session of the 2024 Dr. Sharon Erel lecture series featuring Matt Bell, chief executive officer and founder of Team Recovery. The event is Thursday, February 8, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the McMaster Center, Toledo Lucas County Public Library, 325 Michigan Street, Toledo.

TOPICS Camera Club to meet

TOPICS Camera Club, a non-profit organization open to everyone, will meet Wednesday, February 14, at 6:30 p.m., at the Monclova Community Center, 8115 Monclova Road, Monclova. February’s emphasis will be on optical illusion photos.

VFW to host John Morton Band

Northwood VFW 2984, 102 West Andrus, Northwood, will host the John Morton Band on Saturday, January 20, from 6 to 10 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Metroparks volunteer orientation on Feb. 22

Want to know more about the various volunteer programs and opportunities at Toledo Metroparks? An orientation is set for Thursday, February 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Pearson Metropark– Macomber Lodge. This is an informational meeting designed to get new volunteers or interested community members familiar with the Metroparks Toledo program.
