County engineer’s office receives grant for roundabout

The Lucas County engineer’s office has been awarded a federal grant for construction of a new roundabout at Bancroft Street and King Road in Sylvania and Springfield townships. The project will involve removal of the existing traffic signal at the intersection, updated drainage, sidewalks and construction of a roundabout.

Metroparks accepting bucket donations

Metroparks Toledo programming and volunteer services are looking for bucket and cat litter bin donations. Programming uses them for trash, compost and recycling during summer camps.

Lucas County joins in federal lawsuit against U.S. EPA

The Board of Lucas County Commissioners joined more than a dozen organizations in filing an amicus brief in support of Food and Water Watch in its federal lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in an effort to force the agency to regulate industrial livestock facilities that pollute waterways.
