•MARILYN J. MURANYI

Body
Marilyn J. Muranyi, 88, of Toledo, passed away on April 20, 2024, at 3:05 a.m. She was born March 6, 1936, in Toledo, to Edward T. and Helen (Good) Lennex. Marilyn graduated in 1954 from Whitmer High School and attended Valparaiso Lutheran University. She was married November 1, 1958, to Joseph T. Muranyi Sr., for 39 years, before he passed in 1997. Marilyn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always put her husband’s and children’s needs ahead of her own. Through thick and thin, Marilyn and Joe always managed to have an annual summer vacation, usually renting a lakefront cottage in Upper Michigan or Ontario, and revolved around fishing and exploring the outdoors. Mom spent endless hours in the kitchen cooking for “her men” and always did it with a smile on her face and joy in her heart. Preparing meals for her family never seemed like a chore to her and that joy of providing for her family was passed on to her sons, who all developed a love of cooking from observing their mother’s actions. After raising her three sons, she also worked at People’s Savings and Loan, and then retired as a bookkeeper from the YMCA, after many years of service.
