Beautification committee and volunteers spruce up area

The Point/Shoreland Beautification Committee and community volunteers have been busy planting flowers throughout Point Place. Cubmaster Jesse Rhodes, from Scout Troop Pack 123, members of the pack and their parents planted the flowers at the Handsome Prints Frog.

Ft. Meigs to commemorate 210th anniversary of siege

Area residents are invited to experience Fort Meigs Historic Site in action Memorial Day weekend, May 27 to 29, when reenactors from across the United States and Canada commemorate the 210th anniversary of the first siege of Fort Meigs, which was a pivotal moment in the War of 1812.

Mercy offers mobile mammograms in June

Mercy Health’s mobile mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in June. The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older.

TARTA brings the Muddy Shuttle back this summer

As the Toledo Mud Hens take on the rest of the International League, the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is excited to roll out another option to see games in person. In addition to regular service that runs near Fifth Third Field on game days, TARTA is bringing back the Muddy Shuttle, which will allow fans to park at area locations and take a ride directly to and from Saturday home games in June, July and August.

Area residents named to dean’s list at BGSU

Toledo Lucas County Library selected for national honor

The Toledo Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) has been named as one of four library winners of the 2023 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The award is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries that make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities.
