Teddy Leon “Capt. Ted” Ackley Jr., 60, of the Point Place community of Toledo, passed away at his home, on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

He was born November 10, 1960, in Toledo, to Teddy L. and Linda Mae (Wall) Ackley Sr.

Capt. Ted’s favorite pastime was fishing and the only thing more important than fishing was his family and friends.

He was a fabricator for Apex Metal Fabrication for 37 years, and his family would like to express a special thank you to the Apex family for all the help they extended to Ted and his family over the years.

Surviving are his children, Travis (Nikki) Ackley, Cassie McKee, Christopher and Rachel Peacock; grandchildren, Xander, Austen, Maddix, Lilianne, Damien, Gemma and Dante; step-father, Jim VonDeylen; siblings, Mike (Laura) VonDeylen, Julie (Roy) Chase, Scott (Beth) VonDeylen; sister-in-law, Kim Ackley; aunt, Jeannie Fleck; first mate, Don Hedrick, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Mae VonDeylen; father, Teddy Ackley Sr.; sister, Candy Ackley, and brother, Timmy Ackley.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., on Saturday, June 12, at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit Street, Toledo, where an open mic service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
