Mary Ann Atwood, 91, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Charter Senior Living of Oak Openings, where she resided.

She was born December 9, 1930, in Toledo, to Joseph and Josephine (Hirschberger) Grabmeier.

Mary Ann was a lifelong Point Place resident and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, as well as a Toledo Central Catholic High School graduate. She was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. Mary Ann enjoyed food and her cooking was the highlight of many family gatherings. She was an avid reader and found pleasure in solving a variety of puzzles. In her earlier days, Mary Ann was active walking, bicycling, boating, needle- crafting and traveling all around the world. She shared many of these interests with her family. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother, always with her focus on her family.

Mary Ann married Robert R. Atwood on April 23, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2016.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children, Karen (Gordon) Provenzano, Mary Jo (Charles) Conn, Debbie (Greg) Speier, Roberta “Bobbie” (Norm) Boyd and Kevin (Jean) Atwood; nine grandchildren, Ann (Brian), Rachel (Tyler), Aaron, Kimberly, Kate, Kelsey, MacKenzie, Haley (Josh), and Nolan; five greatgrandchildren, Elliott, Audrey, Jacob, Benjamin and Brinley, and a brother, Joseph Grabmeier. She was preceded in death by a sister, Therese Davis, and two grandsons, Joe Provenzano and Alex Conn.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Services will be held privately at a later date. David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, Toledo, has been entrusted with arrangements.
