Lorraine “Lori” M. Jarrell, 81, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away 5:27 a.m., on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania.
She was born June 14, 1941, in Toledo, to George and Margery (Lewis) Gensler.
Lorraine was a loving, caring, patient and understanding woman, whose selflessness was reflective of the 20-year commitment she gave to the community as the director of Mustard Seed Outreach Ministry in Point Place. She was wise and open-minded, one who was sought after for guidance and advice by her grandchildren, who thought the world of her. Lorraine also was gifted; she enjoyed doing floral arrangements, wood carving and painting art.
Surviving Lorraine is her daughter, Lori Anne O’Connor; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Candace) Gensler and Charles “Chuck” Gensler, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margery; brothers, John and James Gensler, and a sister, Carol Padley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, January 19, at Point Place United Church of Christ, where she was a member. A luncheon will follow. Contributions in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Mustard Seed or the church. Non-perishable food items for Mustard Seed can be brought to the service.
