The Toledo Museum of Art has expanded its collection with its acquisition of “The Pozzi Gospels,” a collection of Armenian manuscripts of the Gospel, named after Jean Pozzi, who owned the manuscript from 1936 to 1967.

The public will have the opportunity to learn about plans for a habitat restoration project for Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve at an open house, on Thursday, July 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Maumee Branch Library, 501 River Road.

When black-eyed susans are blooming you know the wildflower action has shifted from woods to meadows. Black-eyed susans are the poster species for moving into open spaces. Their affinity for being among the first plants to emerge in barren, newly cleared fields or after a burn is so well-known that they are called a pioneer plant. Their beautiful, dark-centered many-rayed bright yellow blooms are hard to miss.

Mustard Seed Ministries of Point Place will hold its annual drive-thru food collection, Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Tickets for this season’s Haunted Waterville Tours 2023 are now available for purchase. “Last year, tickets sold out by early July and this summer tickets are already in demand,” said Julia Wiley, vice president of the Waterville Historical Society, which organizes the tours.

Destination Toledo launched the third round of its 419 Ale Trail on June 18. A total of 32 breweries and craft beverage makers, all located within the 419-area code, are participating in this year’s event. Bandwango will again provide a free, mobile-exclusive digitized passport that will allow visitors and locals to check in. Brochures are available at all locations and will include sign up instructions, a QR code and a complete list of participating businesses.
