Penta treasurer helps develop bipartisan proposal for new Ohio school funding plan
A statewide, bipartisan effort to fix the school funding formula in Ohio includes some help from Penta Career Center Treasurer Carrie Herringshaw.
“It’s been a huge effortthere’s never been an effort like this in the history of the state,” the treasurer said at the February 6 Penta board meeting.
“It will allow for a true funding formula.”
During the past three decades, state leaders have failed to resolve issues with funding public schools. In 1997, in the DeRolph case, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that the state’s funding method is unconstitutional.
