Kentucky Derby Festival leaders mourn loss of Rossford native
A Rossford native who was a top official at the Kentucky Derby in Louisville passed away last week, leaving a legacy of volunteerism and community service.
Mike Ziemianski, a 1973 graduate of Rossford High School, was due to serve as chair of the Kentucky Derby Festival this year until he became ill.
Mr. Ziemianski, 63, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, died June 25 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Toledo to Joseph and Ethel (Minarcin) Ziemianski.
