Fifth-grade STEM program receives FirstEnergy grant
A grant for Rossford Schools’ STEM program will help Eagle Point Elementary fifth-graders learn about three sources of renewable energy: wind, water and solar.
At the November 19 meeting of the Rossford Board of Education, Paul Thornton of FirstEnergy/ Toledo Edison presented a $995 check to STEM teacher Maria Pratt as part of the company’s classroom grant program.
Ms. Pratt will use the funds to purchase five K’NEX renewable energy construction toy sets for five fifth-grade classrooms.
Dawn Burks, school board president, thanked Mr. Thornton for the utility company’s grant.
