Organizers plan for 225th anniversary in August

The Battle of Fallen Timbers

Although U.S. history books may not teach much about it, the Battle of Fallen Timbers fought August 20, 1794, was crucial to the country’s westward expansion.

To celebrate the 225th anniversary of the battle, the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Commission, in conjunction with Metroparks Toledo, has organized a series of special events.

At the June 18 Waterville Chamber of Commerce meeting, Julia Wiley, president of the preservation commission, spoke about the battle and plans to mark the anniversary.
