New committee cleans up Summit
On July 29, a group of 15 concerned residents gathered at Friendship Park to form the Point/Shoreland Beautification Committee, an ad hoc committee under the Beautification Committee of the Point Place Business Association.
The group’s inaugural project was to remove the weeds and garbage at the curbs and sidewalks along Summit Street, above.
Upcoming projects include continuing the Adopt-a-Pot program; updating and emptying decorative metal trash cans; fixing and painting benches; maintaining the Point Place Frog; and cleaning Pinkley Pathway, Bay View Park and Memorial monuments, the I-75 off-ramp, Friendship Park Community Center and the area parks, including Klies, Harry Kessler and Shoreland.
