Local lawmakers react to Householder arrest
In a unanimous vote, Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder was removed from his position, a move supported by several local lawmakers.
On July 30, Mr. Householder was both voted out, 90- 0, by Ohio’s House of Representatives, as well as formally indicted by a federal grand jury on corruption charges.
Along with Mr. Householder, Matthew Borges, former chairman of the Ohio Republican Party and lobbyist; Jeffrey Longstreth, campaign and political strategist; Neil Clark, lobbyist and owner of Grant Street Consultants; and Juan Cespedes, lobbyist, are alleged to have been part of a bribery scheme involving the state’s $1 billion nuclear plant bailout.
