David R. Caig, 61, of Perrysburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in New Castle, Indiana, on November 27, 1956, to Robert and Martha (Cole) Caig. David worked in transportation management. David married Debra Mastrobuono on September 14, 1979, and together they raised their kids. David was a family man and was an avid baseball and softball umpire at the high school and college levels. He enjoyed Michigan sports, motorcycles, and he loved nature and being outdoors. David loved dogs, especially his beagles, Rose, Abigail and Jack. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed. David is survived by his wife, Debbie Caig; son, Joseph (Amanda) Caig; daughter, Jennifer (Torey) Hovest; grandchildren, Brady Caig and Landon Hovest; brother, Thomas (Kathy) Caig; sister, Cynthia (Kevin) McAdams; mother- in- law, Marion Mastrobuono, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Donald Mastrobuono. Friends were received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874- 3133) on Friday, October 5, where a Scripture Service was held at 7 p.m. Prayers were recited at the funeral home on Saturday, October 6, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg.
