Sen. Brown explores career tech education at Penta Career Center

To develop a better understanding of career technical education training in northwest Ohio, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown visited Penta Career Center.

On May 10, the senator toured the welding and advanced manufacturing labs, speaking with instructors and students about their respective programs and how the training prepares students to enter the workforce or continue their education.

“When we talk about respecting the dignity of work, that has to mean making sure our kids have the opportunity to pursue jobs that pay well, are fulfilling and where they can build careers that lead to middle class life,” the senator said. “That’s what Penta does–they set students up for success in whatever path they choose.”

He commended Penta for being “the first of its kind in the country,” noting graduates receive the skills to enter the workforce or post- secondary education.
