Rotary luncheon features mayor on State of the City
The Rotary Club of Perrysburg invited Mayor Tom Mackin to deliver a State of the City address at its October 12 meeting.
Following is the long version of the mayor’s presentation, before he edited it for time.
•Regarding the new fire station, we planned ahead and saved up $4,000,000 in advance to reduce the needed borrowing. That is saving the city about $80,000 to $100,000 per year in interest costs. About $140,000, if we issued bonds.
•The finance department received the Auditor of State award for the fourth consecutive year, for having audits with no findings. •In the process of moving to paperless—implemented applicant tracking system — paperless means to submit applications and paperwork for job openings—continuing implementation of Right Stuff timekeeping system.
