Recycling station issues continue to plague Perrysburg Township

Recycling woes continue to upset the apple cart at Perrysburg Township.

At the May 6 meeting, the trustees discussed a problem with the Wood County Solid Waste District bins, located behind the township administrative building at 26609 Lime City Road.

Recent high winds caused the lids to blow off. “We had a big mess,” Administrator Walt Celley said, adding he plans to speak with Wood County officials in an attempt to get a handle on the problem.

Another issue with the bins is the number of days per week they are emptied. Containers were emptied by Republic on Saturday, only to be full again by Monday.

“They’re filling up in less than 48 hours,” Mr. Celley said, adding, “Something’s got to give. People want to use them, but they are too full half the time.” Recreation director Bob
