Ohio legislature moves to extend graduation pathway options, providing relief for Penta, other career technical students
Penta Career Center administration and instructors can breathe a sigh of relief after learning last week that Ohio will extend graduation pathway options for the Class of 2019.
At the December 12 meeting, director Jeff Kurtz updated the school board on the state legislature’s decision to continue the options.
“You heard me rant back in September,” Mr. Kurtz said, regarding the graduation pathways and their focus on academics through AIR and ACT tests.
He and superintendents from other school districts feared graduation rates could decline sharply without alternate pathways and voiced their concerns in Columbus.
