Tyrone Joseph Campbell, 60, of Toledo, Ohio, was called home on August 19, 2020, surrounded by friends and family at St. Vincent ICU. He was born on March 6, 1960, to his loving parents Tyrone Jude Campbell and Minnie Campbell. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1978 and obtained a degree in engineering at the University of Toledo. Tyrone was happily married to the love of his life, Melissa, on August 15, 1998; they were together 30 years and were married 22.
Eugene “Gene” Nowak, age 71, of Toledo’s Point Place community, passed away on July 17, 2020, due to complications following surgery at Mercy St. Charles Hospital.
Polly Woolsey-Gaul, 96, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, July 28. She was born November 11, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio. A childhood polio survivor, she went on to graduate from Lakewood High School and Lindenwood College in Missouri.
Robert “Bob” Mericle, 75, of Perrysburg, passed away in the early morning of Sunday, August 2, 2020, his family with him at his bedside. He was born March 5, 1945, to Ralph and Hazel (Holcomb) Mericle. Bob graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1963, where in addition to playing football and running track, he became one of the first Northern Lakes League wrestling champions for the school. Upon graduating, he would attend Stout State College before being drafted into the Army, where he was stationed in Mt. Feldberg, Germany, as a Signal Corps SPEC 5. Here, in the Black Forest, he met and fell in love with Renate Hedwig Dahms and they married in 1969.
Roy Albert Whitmore, 82, of Perrysburg, passed away August 5, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Roy was born November 28, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to Albert and Ruth (Mickens) Whitmore. He married Marvene Yohnke in 1964 and they shared 56 years together.
