PPBA celebrates 75th anniversary at Mud Hens game

Point Place Business Association celebrated its 75th anniversary of being a service to the Point Place and Shoreland community at a Mud Hens game on August 16. The evening included dinner, the game and proclamations presented by Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and City of Toledo District 6 Councilwoman Theresa Morris to PPBA President Tom Stagner.

Student Leadership to meet Monday, September 11

Nature’s Nursery to present Hardy Herptiles on Sept. 7

The City of Toledo is sponsoring Hardy Herptiles at Friendship Park Community Center on Thursday, September 7, from 5 to 6 p.m. Learn about the reptiles and amphibians in the area with ambassador animals in this free, open to the public event at 2930 131st Street, Toledo. Pets will not be allowed.

Weekly menu for FPCC lunches

Friendship Park Community Center has posted the weekly menu for the community lunches. Guests are asked for donations of $2.50 per meal, and lunch is served at 11:45 a.m.

AARP meeting set for September 14

Migration-A-Thon hosted by Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge

Through September, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) and the Friends of Ottawa NWR are hosting a month-long Migration- A-Thon virtual challenge. The challenge is a way to come together and move in the community with a goal of reaching 2,269 miles collectively— the distance it takes a monarch butterfly to travel from Oak Harbor to the butterfly sanctuary in Sierra Chincua, Mexico.
