Point Place tornado relief fund

Money has been donated by the Point Place and Shoreland area churches and Friendship Park Community Center to help those who need help paying for damages and deductibles. The fund is being administered by Lutheran Social Services of Northwest Ohio (LSS). If eligible, grants are $500 for a single person and $1,000 for a family.

Grand Rapids arts council to hold Harvest Moon Gala

The Grand Rapids Arts Council will host a Harvest Moon Gala on Sunday, October 15, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Nazareth Hall, 21211 West River Road. The fundraising event includes a sitdown dinner prepared by the Nazareth Hall chef, a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50 raffle and entertainment.

Friends of ONWR receive national recognition

On September 26, Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge received a national award for their commitment to the refuge. Their unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for seamlessly connecting conservation and the local community has earned them the Molly Krival Award– Friends Group of the Year for the 2023 Wildlife Refuge Awards, presented by the National Wildlife Refuge Association.

Pumpkin Palooza to be held Oct. 14

The 2023 Pumpkin Palooza will take place on Saturday, October 14, at the Ottawa Park open-air shelter house, 2200 Kenwood Boulevard. From 5 to 9 p.m. residents are invited to attend the free, family-friendly event.
