The 100th exhibition and bourse of the Stamp Collectors Club of Toledo is set for Friday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Graystone Banquet Hall and Conference Center, 29101 Hufford Road, Perrysburg.

The Gathering of Quilters was founded in 1982. It promotes the art and craft of quilting, with membership open to any person interested in quilts, quilt making and sewing-related crafts.

HeART Gallery’s winter theme, “Broken But Beautiful,” is a six-week, faith and arts program offered at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in downtown Toledo.

The Photo Arts Club of Toledo is hosting its 35th annual photo contest at Secor Metropark. The exhibit will be open Saturday and Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m., March 23 through May 4, excluding Palm Sunday and Easter weekend. There will be no opening reception this year.

Registrations are now being accepted for the Friendship Park Community Center spring craft show, scheduled for Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Registration is free and open for the 2024 Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival. The event will take place Saturday, March 9, at Rossford Junior/Senior High, 701 Superior Street.

Toledo City Council has received notice of two resignations this month: •Dr. Tiffany Preston Whitman, at-large, last day February 2, selected by Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz as Director of the Department of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Glass City Metropark is the recipient of the 2023 Governor’s Award, a best of show honor, in a contest by the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association. The award was announced February 6 during a banquet at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky.

On January 25, Garrick “Gary” Johnson, a former Toledo city councilman, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Helmick to four months in prison.
