Harbingers of spring have arrived with thousands of redwinged blackbirds filling the quiet marshes with song and life. Red-winged blackbirds return to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in late February or early March.

March 6 marked the dawning of a new era for Nature’s Nursery. The wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center celebrated the opening of its new facility in Waterville and start of the second portion of the project–an outdoor rehabilitation area.

Since the beginning of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, bereavement care has been a core part of its services. Building on that 42 years of expertise, in July the organization will host its second annual Path Finders children’s grief camp.

The Toledo Craftsman’s Guild annual Spring Festival of Crafts will be held Saturday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Premier Banquet Hall on Heatherdowns Boulevard, across from the Stranahan Theatre.
