The days of yesteryear will be on display Sunday, July 16, at the Five Point Steam Threshers 61st annual reunion. The event, free and open to the public, will feature wheat threshing and plowing demonstrations, along with a variety of antique tractors, gas and steam engines.

The Ohio Lake Erie Commission approved its 2023 Lake Erie Protection (LEPR) and Restoration plan at the June quarterly meeting. The LEPR, last published in 2020, reflects actions the Ohio Lake Erie Commission and its member agencies will undertake over the next two years to protect, preserve and restore the great lake and promote economic development for the region.

Friendship Park Community Center has posted the weekly menu for the community lunches. Guests are asked for donations of $2.50 per meal, and lunch is served at 11:45 a.m.

Triple H Farms in Metamora opened its farm to nearly 3,000 guests on June 24 for their 2023 Breakfast on the Farm event. Guests of all ages enjoyed a free, locally- produced breakfast and self-guided tour of a modern grain, tomato and beef farm.
