Metroparks Toledo programming and volunteer services are looking for bucket and cat litter bin donations. Programming uses them for trash, compost and recycling during summer camps.

Friendship Park Community Center has posted the weekly menu for the community lunches. Guests are asked for donations of $2.50 per meal, and lunch is served at 11:45 a.m.

Lourdes University will host its annual student art exhibition March 23 to April 10. The exhibition will showcase the artistic talents of Lourdes University students at the Canticle Center Art Gallery, 5335 Silica Drive, Sylvania.

Libbey House will host a mystery event fund-raiser, “Who Let the Hounds Out,” on Saturday, March 23, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Libbey House, 2008 Scottwood Avenue, Old West End. A mystery surrounds the disappearance of local pups and the mansion’s staff needs all hands on deck to fetch the clues and solve the mystery.

Those new to volunteering with Metroparks Toledo or who want to know more about various programs and opportunities can attend a volunteer orientation Monday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Glass City Metropark, Glass City Pavilion.

The Ohio Highway Patrol joined forces recently with members of the Six-State Trooper Project to focus on criminal patrol and drug interdiction. During the project, 55 individuals in Ohio were issued citations, including 46 for drugs and nine for illegal weapons.

As Ohioans welcome in spring, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal and Ohio Department of Natural Resources remind residents of the importance of adhering to the state’s burn ban regulations, which took effect March 1, and lasts through May.
