Toledo Edison inspecting lines
Starting in February, Haverfield is performing comprehensive visual inspection (CVI) patrols on all Toledo Edison 345kV Transmission lines. Haverfield is patrolling Toledo Edison full time until inspections are complete.
A CVI is a slow, structure by structure, span by span inspection in which the crew obtains a detailed look at the structure, conductor, and all associated hardware. The helicopter will be seen moving slowly along the lines and at times may be seen hovering during the inspection, taking a closer look at the transmission line, structures and hardware.
The helicopter scheduled for these patrols is this black, Hughes MD500 with tail registration number N371EE.
