Safety upgrades under way at Springfield Local Schools
With passage of the levy in November, work is under way to make Springfield’s five school buildings safer for district children.
At the January 23 meeting, Superintendent Matt Geha updated the board of education on changes being implemented.
Last fall, voters renewed a 1.35-mill permanent levy, with an additional 0.9 mills for security improvements.
The superintendent said reinforced entry glass has been installed at all schools.
