Remembering Sept. 11, 2001

Penta holds Patriot Day ceremony

At 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, exactly 17 years to the day the United States came under attack by terrorists resulting in the deaths of innocent people in New York City, Shanksville, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

In remembrance of that day, Penta students in the public safety/criminal justice and firefighter programs held the 11th annual Patriot Day ceremony on a day with beautiful weather, not unlike the one all those years ago.

The ceremony took place near the flag pole at the career center’s main entrance. Many staff and students gathered outside while others viewed it via a live broadcast organized by students in the digital video program.
