NANCY (BARGER) MIECZKOWSKI-BRIGGS

Nancy J. (Barger) Mieczkowski-Briggs, 63, of the Point/Shoreland Community died Monday, June 23, 2008. She was born to Robert and Jeanne (Snyder) Barger in Norman, Oklahoma, on June 16, 1945. She was a sales representative for Estee Lauder and Revlon. She also was a playground monitor at Fort Meigs Elementary School, co-leader of Girl Scout Troop #798, and a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Troy-Webster Post #240. She was involved in many organizations which allowed her to share her gift of mercy and compassion with others. She was a model for Walbridge and Bellg Agency during the 1970s. She enjoyed photography, listening to country music, travel and boating on Lake Erie. She is survived by her children, Kim (Terry) Lanning and Kevin (Kathy) Mieczkowski; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jason), Kyle, and Kelsie; great-granddaughter, Kalie; parents; nieces and nephews, Grant (Beth), Sandra, and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Grohowski; granddaughter, Kayla Mieczkowski; and her nephew, Stanley Grohowski. A Scripture Service was held June 26, at the David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc. Prayers began in the funeral home on June 27, followed by a Funeral Mass at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, with Father James Auth officiating. HOWARD BOGDANSKI

Howard R. Bogdanski, 76, of the Point and Shoreland Community, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at his home. He worked for COSCO Graphics for 43 years, retiring in 1993. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950. Mr. Bogdanski was a member of the former Ambassador Baton and Drum Corps and played in the PAC Band for 50 years. He was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic church, where he served as an usher. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of VFW Post 3265. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers, and Notre Dame football. He also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and tending to his yard. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rose Ann; son, Bruce Bogdanski; daughters, Luann Bogdanski and Diane (Daryl Lukas) Jones; grandchildren, Delaney and Alex, and sister, Gloria Emerson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert. VFW services were held June 25, in the David R. Jasin Funeral Home. Prayers began in the funeral home on June 26, followed by services at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. CATHERINE EISNOR
Catherine E. Eisnor of Point Place, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at Harborside of Point Place nursing home. She was born in Ontario, Canada, on March 5, 1912, to John and Alma Eagan. She retired from Tiedke’s as a security guard. She enjoyed people and animals. Ms. Eisnor is survived by her granddaughter, Shannan (Richard) Schultz, and great-grandson, Dan Schultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Eisnor; daughter, Dorothy (Jack) Schultz; sisters, Irene and Laura William, and grandson, Garry Watt. A small service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family at 3126 North Erie Street, Toledo, Ohio 43611.
