WALTER RUCH
Walter J. Ruch, 54, of Perrysburg, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on August 19, 1953, to Richard and Geneieve (Snyder) Ruch in Toledo. He was a graduate of Sylvania High School, where he excelled in track. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having spent time in Europe in the early 1970s. He was employed with Old Castle Glass in Perrysburg as a glassworker. He enjoyed watching and reading about sports, especially Nascar. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandy (Hutchinson) Ruch; mother, Geneieve Ruch; children, Lisa (Steve) Fortner of Defiance, and Amy (Christopher) Giordano of Toledo; grandchildren, Matthew Fortner, Daniel Fortner, Sarah Fortner, Samantha Giordano and Michael Giordano; siblings, Rich Ruch of Virginia; Ron Ruch, Dave Ruch, Jim Ruch and Carol Del Signore and their families, all of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ruch. There was no visitation and services were private. Arrangements are made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.


SHARON BUCKENBERGER
Sharon Kay Buckenberger, 62, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born on November 1, 1945, in Toledo, to George and Mary (Kish) Buckenberger. She was a 1963 graduate of Perrysburg High School. After graduation, she moved to California where she resided and owned her own candy business for many years prior to returning to Ohio. She enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks and Snoopy memorabilia, playing softball, golf and other sports. She also enjoyed attending craft fairs and garage sales. Ms. Buckenberger is survived by her sisters, Donna McCally and Betty Finch, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Philip Buckenberger. The family is honoring her request to have her cremains returned to California. A memorial service is being arranged by her closest friends in California, to celebrate her active 40 years of life on the West Coast. Arrangements were made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.


WALTER “PETE” WILSON
Walter T. “Pete” Wilson, 86, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Manor at Perrysburg. He was born on November 30, 1921, in Toledo, to Walter and Mary (Clark) Wilson. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School and studied architecture at the University of Toledo. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Florine “Flossie” Dautell on February 19, 1944, in Toledo. He worked in the family business, Wilson Wiping Cloth Company, until 1950, when his father purchased the Waterville Lumber and Supply. In 1985, he liquidated the business, retired and was able to enjoy his favorite pastimes: gardening, golf, traveling, boating and playing cards. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, Catawba Island Club, the Matthews and Lyman Boat Owners Association and was a dedicated driver for the Wood County Meals on Wheels program. Mr. Wilson is survived by his son, Jeff Wilson of Perrysburg; daughter, Nancy (Larry) Hutson of Perrysburg, and granddaughter, Jennifer Hutson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florine, in 2007. There will be no visitation. A memorial service for both Mr. and Mrs. Wilson will be held tomorrow, May 15, at 11 a.m., at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, with the Rev. Kenneth Pepin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551; Humane Society of Wood County, 801 Van Camp Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
